Brucellosis Serology Testing Announcement

The VDC Bacteriology laboratory has achieved USDA-NVSL certification to perform official brucellosis serology testing (Card test serology) for cattle and swine. Testing requires 2.0 ml of serum. Samples must be submitted to the Nebraska Veterinary Diagnostic Center using an Official Brucellosis Test Record (VS From 4-33). Samples will generally be tested on the day of receipt, but submitting veterinarians are encouraged to contact the laboratory regarding testing needs for large numbers of samples (>10) or special time constraints.

Our fees for Brucellosis testing at the VDC are as follows:

$10.00 Accession fee
Card Test $1.00
Standard Plate Test - $2.50
BAPA Test - $2.50
Rivanol - $3.00
$0.50/sample for serum separation as required.

Test results will be communicated to the submitting veterinarian through the state of Nebraska Bureau of Animal Industry.
