Specialization/Research Effort: Gov's research focus is on Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP), the agent of Johne's disease (JD). Gov is also analyzing the essentiality of the glutamate racemase (MurI) in Mycobacterium smegmatis, a fast growing non-pathogenic mycobacteria used as a model organism for pathogenic mycobacterial species.
