Dr. Galles is responsible for clinical instruction in the PPVM, with the goals of delivering an outcome-based and a competency-based clinical education. Her areas of instruction include clinical skills, professional skills, cultural competency, and clinical sciences, where she uses integrative methods and clinical cases to apply and incorporate basic sciences knowledge into the curriculum. For her highly experiential curriculum, she applies hands-on skills, gained from both animal models and live animals, as well as the application of critical thinking and problem-solving techniques as the foundation of instruction.

Service

Outside of UNL I volunteer with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP), my specialty organization, in writing exam questions and evaluating candidates for the process of board certification.  In this same organization, I am a Founding Fellow of Emergency Practice, as well as a mentor to future fellows, to improve the opportunities for and retention of emergency veterinarians, an underserved area of the profession.
