Graduate Student Profile

About

My academic journey started with earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Hanoi University of Agriculture and a Master of Science in Veterinary Sciences from the Vietnam National University of Agriculture.

My academic and research focus is vaccine development, virology, viral immunology, molecular evolution, and metagenomics, particularly on swine diseases.

Education

  • 2024 January Integrative Biomedical Sciences (Ph.D. student), School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nebraska, USA
  • 2015 – 2017 Master of Science in Veterinary Sciences, Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), Vietnam
  • 2008 – 2013 BVSc (DVM equivalent), Hanoi University of Agriculture (HUA)

Professional Responsibilities and Activities

  • Throughout my research, I have been deeply involved in developing and validating various serological assays to evaluate antibody responses in swine. These include the Luciferase Immunoprecipitation System (LIPS) and ELISA. Additionally, I have been instrumental in identifying and characterizing various swine viruses, such as the Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome virus (PRRSV), African Swine Fever virus (ASFV), and Swine influenza virus, and investigating their molecular characteristics using Oxford Nanopore technology (ONT).
