Program Overview for 2013 George A. Young Swine
Health and Management Conference

 The 2013 George A. Young Swine Health and Management Conference will have a "wet lab" format. There will be two one-hour presentations on the why's and how's of postmortem exams, specimen collection, and shipping. The objective of this year's conference is to help producers and their employees better communicate with their veterinarians about what they are seeing when they perform a postmortem exam and to collect specimens for laboratory testing. After this conference, producers and their employees will understand the proper techniques for performing a postmortem exam, packaging and shipping specimens. It is not the intent of this conference to train producers or farm workers to diagnose disease.
