Dr. Scott McVey

Since I rejoined the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SVMBS) in July 2020, I have seen examples of great work under difficult circumstances.

As I draft this note, I am seeing more cars and more people on East Campus than I have seen in the last year. This COVID-19 pandemic has had a great impact on every aspect of our society including the academy. It is impossible to predict where this will go next, but I will predict with great confidence that I will get a booster dose of the vaccine as soon as possible.

But no matter how this pandemic proceeds from this point in time, I am also confident the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SVMBS) will fulfill its mission and be very productive. One important reason that we decided to do this reflective magazine was to illustrate many of the achievements and accomplishments of the last year. Most of these works continue. These successes happened because of the great students, staff, and faculty in the SVMBS.
